One link going around today is a story about a tribe of people, native to "the Amazon rainforest near the Brazil-Peru border" and presumably as-of-yet contacted by anyone, who were recently photographed from the air. Their body language communicates something akin to "WTF!? Sulu, lock on phasers!" Another writeup at Reuters has 7 other pictures, which give a good view of their dwellings. Meanwhile, in the matrix, tens of millions of cubicle-dwellers are peering down upon them through magic glass.
Make your time, unassimiliated people. All your rainforest are belong to us.
Edit: Check out this page at BBC News, which labels and discusses some things seen in the photos.

Maybe they will assimilate us!
(crosses fingers)
Yes, and plant rainforest everywhere. That would rock!
Where you guys see a pristine remnant of pre-Neolithic humans living in balance with their environment, I see a franchise opportunity.
Here's a hint--sink all your spare cash into Starbucks stock; I'm going in.
Kirk, you and I should go into business together. I was toying with the idea of pitching a reality show: a reversal of the traditional missionary scenario, where these people are whisked away to the Mall of America for a 10-day spiritual lock-in with proselytizers from all stripes — a veritable smorgasbord of new world-views choose from — to welcome them to their new lives as part of the global community.

Maybe we deserve assimilation?

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was unaware that Shatner recorded a Pulp song with Ben Folds. Flippin' sweet. I love that song.
Of the entire body of evidence that could support the idea that we may deserve assimilation, you selected a gem.
