Meet Sean Pohl Bogen, up-and-comming rock star. Sean is my nephew, so I am "Uncle Pohl" to him. This is music to my ears; Pohl is my first name.
Sean has had guitar-on-the-brain for a long time now -- fueled by, among other influences, occasional family jam sessions with Mark (his drummer Dad), Al (friend of the family), and myself. One of the most heartwarming moments: Sean thanking me for bringing my blue guitar over to play. Sean may be the only person on the planet who thinks of me as a guitar hero, and that's enough to satisfy my desires for fandom.
Sean has been wanting an electric guitar, and today I got the news (and this picture) that he now has one. He already earned a blister, and picked the instrument right up the next morning to keep playing.
That's the way ya do it.
Check out the joy on his face. And the tat on his arm. Also note that he's holding the guitar in the traditional manner. This is a big moment because he used to hold his little acoustic guitar backwards, despite being right-hand-dominant. The pictures make it seem like he's adjusting just fine.
Sean's other passions include big trucks, driving tractors, and doing chores with Grandpa around the farm. And cake.
I can't wait to go see his new axe.
