This is the building where I work -- up on the seventh floor, partially cut off in the picture. This building is part of the Cornhusker Marriott, connected to the building on the left at the ground level. This is important because I discovered a health hazard there: a little shop where one can buy a latte and a LaMar's donut.
As anyone with taste for such things knows, a LaMar's donut is the most perfect donut. I honestly don't understand how the Krispy Kreme empire cast a spell over investors. LaMar's is where it's at.
I couldn't resist coffee & donut after riding to work in the rain. It was delicious, but it made me feel a bit uneasy.

Heh. Check out the VIP Limbusine in the extreme lower left corner of the picture. I wish I had planned that.
Pohl - You are right across the street from us on the South side. We go there every morning. I agree - it is a health hazard.
I used to work in that parking garage there. What a fun and easy job. Just reading the whole time. If I could live on 5 bucks an hour ....
Cool that your working downtown. Good stuff.

(11:56:53) Theresa: then I know I can get my choclate bavarian cream bizmark
I worked in a donut shop for a year. 7 cavaties. apple fritters are the lonliest donut. They are the last ones made and made up of all their friends. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th dough, apple goop, cinnoman, and submerged goodness.
The fry oil is solid when it is room temp. The white cream is sooooooo horrible. W4 shortening and powdered sugar whipped to a froth.
I still smell like a donut.
Hmmmmm...
My uncle used to own the Donut Stop on 27th and O. My mom worked there as a waitress.
My dad was a cop on the night shift beat.
Anyways, years later, I remember smelling freshly made donuts when we visited there.
Lamars has nothing on those memories...
the donut stop was the best. i used to stop there on my way to work at cycle works. before that it was my step dad taking me there to get a bite to eat before yard work.
when i lived downtown, it was mettlers on 11th. or the rampark donut shop. i had all the coffee/donut spots scoped out ... it was key to gettin' the day off right.
